Our dining room make over was inspired by our Bahamas Vacation. Along with turquoise blue waters, sand and beach, inspiration was drawn from a stop over at the Quizons sub too. While waiting for the order, subway art style wall caught my eye. I wanted to incorporate this subway style art in the dinig room and here is the result :). Do you like it as much as I do?
I got the wood cut from the homedepot and stained using min max stain
Once the stain dried, I used vinyl wall decal stickers and free handed few (I fell short at couple of place)
- Peel the backing material carefully
- Apply it on the panel. Smoothen it using a credit card (I used monopoly card), so that no air is trapped
- Now carefully peel of the top
Voila!! Its all ready :)
Here is how it looked once done. Loved the look but there was tiny problem. It was short!!!
I got the length all wrong. Standard plywood measures 6 ft long which is 72 inches. I was thinking that it is 9 ft. Extended the panel on the either side by adding the wood. I had mixed two stains to match it with dining table. I had just eyeballed, so it was difficult to get the exact same color. So ended up updating the either sides of the panel with hand made stencil. Mr. Techie helped me to hang it using the corner brackets
I love how it turned out. Hubby is totally smitten with this. :)
Have a wonderful weekend dear ones.
Thanks,
