Welcome people!! I am back after a loooong hiatus!! It is that time of the year again when one room challenge fever hits the bloggers!! This year has been crazy personally; blogging and home decor took a back seat. What's better than this 6 weeks challenge to get this momma out of hibernation!
I have participated in Spring 2016 and Spring 2017 ORC which resulted in two beautiful room makeovers.
After some serious competition between the kitchen/family room, guest bedroom and daughter's bedroom, dear daughters room emerged as the winner. We did her room over many moons ago when she was a toddler. It has good bones, nicely lit and slightly larger than her brother room. Since DD is a middle schooler now it's high ime her room reflects true her: fun loving, charming, happy go lucky, chatterbox, kind hearted, heart and soul of our family.
Here is how her room looks today.
Bed was part of bunk bed in its last form which went thru transformation.
Desk and dresser is hand me over from her brother which were craigslist buys. Desk went thru transformation (read here) and dresser stayed as is. That Night stand (??) has been with us forever, time to bid a good bye.
Here is the plan for the next 5 weeks.
- Paint over, move away from pink but keep the bead board wainscotting (read here)
- Closet doors. I hated the sliding doors she had. When I did her closet (read here) last year I threw those away. Though she is organized, I need to cover these. May be Curtains or the bi-fold doors?
- May be bigger bed if budget permits
- Corner Desk
- Floating Shelves
- Curtains for the window
- Chandelier
- bulletin board
Cant wait to get my hands dirty!! Now off to callling it Home and check out all other amazing guest bloggers participating in this challenge. Its all overload of inspiration out there.
Be sure to stop by next thursday to check out my progress.
Thanks,
